Integral Rotary Dampers

Integral rotary dampers wrap around the road wheel pivot shaft for new tracked vehicles. The absorbed damping energy is dissipated into the vehicle hull as heat and their damping capacity is much greater than that of alternative solutions such as a linear damping system. Integral rotary dampers are designed to work in conjunction with a torsion bar spring. They offer the advantage of fitting into the running gear and are integral to the vehicle hull. The main seal to the environment is rotary which is a much more effective sealing solution compared to linear seals which require good surface finishes as well as high performance seals.
