Naval Equipment

   VCS Units

We have long been associated with the design and manufacture of Naval instrumentation. This was by virtue of the Companies capability in manufacturing electro-mechanical equipment and also the close proximity of the Admiralty at Foxhill, Bath.

The VCS range (Versatile Consol System) was developed by the MoD(N) to offer a standard range of instruments with the same range of dimensions and electrical interface. Each VCS unit type electrical interface is unique and therefore prevents a unit being fitted in to the wrong console.

By opting for the VCS arrangement, it ensures that the Naval
service teams quickly easily replace defective units.

   Repair & Overhaul

We repair and overhaul the VCS range of units as well as components from the Ships Compass Transmission System (SCTS) range of equipment.

For the Shield naval decoy system we have developed an improved recoil strut (identified on the picture as the white tube with the green pressurized gas warning label).

   2093 Sonar

We designed and developed the linear actuators for the Thales 2093 minehunting sonar. The actuators open the sea chest where the dipping sonar is held until deployed.

For each ships set there are 3 electrically driven units and one manual. The electrical units have a low magnetic signature despite having an electric motor.

Equipment has been sold to Saudi, Japan, Korea, Australia, and Turkey.
