Development & Testing

Detailed Testing is a key element of Horstman’s product engineering. We draw upon a large sum of experience, to produce testing specific to individual vehicle applications in cooperation with our Customers

Product development tests are conducted using in-house test rigs and at external test facilities. Testing conducted includes structural, shock, vibration, environmental, climatic from individual components to complete wheel stations.

Horstman bespoke design numerous tests to generate results which are representative of vehicle usage and operation or to correlate to FEA models/simulations. Testing is also derived from sources including Legislative Standards, OEM requirements and Customer load cases.

Horstman enthusiastically support vehicle testing activities conducted by our Customers including vehicle trials and data collection, providing on-site Engineering Support where required.

Sterling Heights MI, October 21, 2010: Horstman Inc is pleased to announce that the company has been selected by the United States Marine Corp (USMC) to provide a Compressible Fluid Strut (CF Strut) solution for the High-Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) Suspension Upgrade program.
